Why Intimacy, Breathwork and Yoga?

Caring for Ourselves Mind, Body & Spirit

After the Harvest

Breathwork

Breathwork meditation has been shown to  improve mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

According to research, breathwork may boost your mood, decrease high blood pressure, improve alertness, focus, and memory, promote quality sleep, soothe emotions associated with grief and trauma and reduce symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression.

Trusted Emotional Support

Emotional support is an important protective factor for dealing with life’s difficulties, while loneliness has been associated with a wide variety of health problems including high blood pressure, diminished immunity, cardiovascular disease, and cognitive decline.

Being Truly Seen

Platonic intimacy cultivates a healthier mind-set, increases self-esteem, deepens understanding of relationships, and strengthens one’s emotional resilience.

Healing Power of Touch

The human touch is known to reduce stress, allowing the immune system to work the way it should.  It calms certain bodily functions, such as your heart rate and blood pressure and activates the body’s vagus nerve, which is intimately involved with our compassionate response...a simple touch can trigger release of oxytocin, aka “the love hormone.”

Yoga

Yoga has long been touted for it's beneficial effects on one's mental, physical and spiritual health.  Improved flexibility, focus and it's grounding effects are just a few of its many benefits.

Meditation

While meditation is well known as a technique to reduce stress and anxiety, it may also help enhance your mood, promote healthy sleep patterns, and boost cognitive skill.

Testimonials

Christine's yoga classes helped me regain my momentum and develop an inner peace while working in a stressful job. While working from home I would block my work calendar so I could attend a 15-minute meditation session weekly. They always seemed to be right on time...
